We’ve been social media friends for years through our photography businesses.  And somehow commenting on each others photos turned to emails turned to text messages, then phone dates.  From day one even though we lived miles apart — me on the Coast and her in Wisconsin — she’s always felt like tribe to me.

We finally got to meet in NYC last year and over we dinner talked about life, our dreams, and struggles.  It affirmed to me that Jenna Kutcher is the real deal.  She is authentic, business savvy, full of depth, generous, and the person you encounter online is the person you meet in the flesh.  She lives her message and has expanded exponentially over the last few years.

When I got a message from her asking me to be on her Goal Digger podcast (with over a million downloads) I was honored.  Since she started Goal Digger I secretly wanted to be apart of it, but had no idea what that would look like.  It came at the perfect timing–like most things do.  We chatted about my struggle with anxiety and my commitment to building community.

And now it’s live–my very first podcast!  Please check it out, and let me know your thoughts, and if you have any questions or feedback!

XO,
Kat

  1. I absolutely adored the podcast, I just recently started listening to the goal digger podcasts and this one has been my favourite. Thank you for your honestly. I was able to relate to so many things you said! Whenever I am going through something I am instantly thinking through how to teach it and how to help others going through the same thing, meanwhile ignoring my own process. Knowing that I need people in my journey that will process with me first for a while before I can share things is so key for me! And I am beyond thankful for that! This is a game changer. Thanks so much!

    1. Thank you so much for sharing Josie. Yes…we are not alone. And we need people! I’m slowly learning to take the ‘super woman cape’ off + ask for support from those around me. It’s so vulnerable and scary–but the amazing thing I’ve found–is every time I reach out I get acceptance, love, and a helping hand!

  2. Listening to your podcast right now and felt compelled to check out The Refined Woman! I, too, am an athletic build, never fitting into the style of the season, never going to be a size 0- (or 6 for that matter!). You absolutely sparked my interested in being real, raw and finding my worth and value in who I am in Jesus Christ, period. It is not about my “doing”, my works, my business or even my gifts. That is a lie we believe as women that our value is determined by our gifts and beauty. I love Jesus. I love women’s ministry. I am new lover of entrepreneurship and women coming together to champion and not compete! I have been struggling a lot with it lately and found your podcast episode so refreshing and relatable! I loved your chat about collaborating and would love to collaborate with you and The Refined Woman. Please let me know if you would be interested in a next step!

  3. Listened to your podcast today on a hike and it was perfect timing. I lost my mom 10 days ago and it’s been rough. Listening to your words really helped. I was a workaholic and while going through this with my mom – I had to say no. I own my own business so you can imagine, that was really tough. But when you are put in a situation and you need to choose – I chose to be present with my mom and love. Thank you for your words and insight. I love your mom’s quote too – Be a friend to make a friend. Throughout these hard times, I have discovered so many friends, people so willing to help. When you are a soloprenuer – you think you are on your own, but you aren’t. There are so many people willing to help you.
